CSS Text Hover Effects

If you work on websites for any length of time you are probably going to run into the problem of hovering a piece of text over an image, usually taking the form of a title or caption that appears only when place your mouse over the image.

There are a number of ways to do this, many of them laid out online in tight little tutorials or answers to forum questions.

I was very frustrated by these as I was having a great deal of difficulty getting them to work. That is, until I found one that worked beautifully and was explained clearly enough to get through this dense skull.

If you are looking for this solution, go to the Six Revisions website and look for Ryan Seddon’s tutorial, “Snazzy Hover Effects Using CSS“. It was an easy read and easy to implement and the site I was working on now has exactly what I was looking to do to it.
