The robot (I named her Ania for Automated Network Integration Architect) was created for Netliant, a company that used the web to help IT professionals design and purchase computer networks. Their idea was to have an iconic mascot, not unlike Ananova, who would be an integral part of the site. Ultimately, they wanted to even animate her. However, there was a great deal of controversy over whether or not this was a good idea, and also much discussion as to how "sexy" to make her. This was the final version, along with a couple of "parts" which were used on the web and on marketing collateral during Netliant's initial rollout. Within sex months they changed their marketing strategy drastically and Ania's services were no longer required. I really enjoyed doing this piece, and I used at least 4 different 3D programs and Photoshop to create her. Someday I hope to resurrect Ania in some form. Ania can also be seen in the Design section where you will find the original Netliant website. © J. Tony |
