On this page I have placed those things I find inspiring, amusing, or just interesting. This includes information about me, my family and friends, my hobbies and passtimes and anything else that doesn't fit in Art or Design (after all, when you are an artist, everything is inspiration, right?).

This page will constantly be changing and updating, so feel free to check in whenever you like! I'll post updates to the "News" section on the home page.

More to come...

I used to be a total TV Addict. Now, I'm paring away my regular viewing down to two shows. My addiction is still apparent by my choices. Alias still rocks and is probably the most fun I've had watching TV in quite some time. And this'll be the first time since the very first season that I've been hooked by Survivor right from the first episode. I can't help it. I love Rupert and Christa!

Just finished reading my newest copy of Readymade Magazine, the best magazine I've ever seen. I am so happy to find out that they'll be coming out bimonthly finally! If you have not read this magazine, run, do not walk to your nearest news stand. Better yet, get a subscription. Seriously.

In remembrance of Donald Kaufman.

Watched Hedwig and the Angry Inch. I absolutely LOVE this movie. See it, whatever you do. It is so worth your time. To paraphrase one of the actors who played Hedwig in the theatrical production, you go into this movie thinking "what could I possibly have in common with this character, and you come out of it thinking, "I have everything in common with this character." I also LOVE the soundtrack, but be careful, it'll get stuck in your head.

Started reading Ring by Koji Suzuki last night. The weird thing is that the deaths in the beginning of the book (the first two chapters, so I'm not really giving anything away here) happen on September 5, 1990. I really liked the American version of the movie, and I am looking forward to seeing both the Japanese and Korean versions of the movie, and the American version of the sequel.

Finished watching the interviews on Drama in the Desert, a DVD that went along with the book of images from Burning Man 2002. I liked it, but I wish there'd been more pictures and video on the DVD. The one good thing was the artists interviews, which made it worth while.

Went to the Hiller Aviation Museum with the kids yesterday. What a cool collection of really interesting machines! I'll definitely be going back sometime soon to get more pictures.

I finished reading Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood yesterday. Not what I had expected at all. Actually I don't know what I expected, since I didn't know anything about it before reading it, other than it was written by Margaret Atwood. Though I'm pretty tired of Dystopian Adventures in general, I enjoyed this, probably because there was so much pre-dystopia "memories" from Snowman, giving the dismal realities a point.

Watched The Others (Some minor spoilers follow). It was pretty cool, and I had avoided finding out about the ending, but I still figured out what was going in way too early. I'd have liked to see even more done with the movie. I liked the end, but it felt like it ended before it was truly over. There should have been more interaction with "the intruders" before the close. It just needed about twenty minutes more before it closed off.

I'm listening to "Turning Japanese" on my headphones at the Canvas Cafe. This song is quite probably my favorite song from the '80's, and I've loved every cover I've ever heard of it, including the Tom Monroe version from the Gerry Todd show.
